Our Story
A veteran. A daughter. A tamale maker.
Lucy Rangel Macias
Founder & Owner
Lucy Rangel Macias is a proud United States Air Force veteran, Central Valley native, and daughter of Mexican immigrants. She grew up watching her family make tamales the way they were always meant to be made — by hand, with patience, and with love.
After serving her country, Lucy returned home to Clovis with a mission: to honor her family's recipes and share them with her community. La Luna y El Sol Tamales was born from that commitment — a business built on heritage, hard work, and the belief that food is one of the most powerful ways to connect people.
Every tamale Lucy makes carries that story. From the masa to the filling to the final fold — it's all done by hand, the way her family taught her.
La Luna y El Sol Tamales is a veteran-owned small business. We are proud to honor Lucy's service and bring that same dedication and discipline to every order.
La Luna y El Sol
The Moon and The Sun. Two forces that guide us — one steady and constant, one warm and life-giving. Together, they represent the balance at the heart of this business: tradition and innovation, family and community, heritage and the future.
Made by Hand
Every tamale is handcrafted from scratch. No shortcuts, no compromises.
Rooted in Family
Our recipes come from generations of family tradition, passed down with love.
Serving Our Community
We're proud to serve Fresno, Clovis, and the Central Valley — the community that raised us.
